Effect of Acute Aerobic Exercise on the Attention and Executive Function of Patient with Frontal Lobe Lesions

Abstract
Objective: This study examined the effects of acute aerobic exercise on the affected attention and executive function of patient with frontal lobe lesions.

Methods: The subject was a person with frontal lobe lesions. The experimetal design was a single subject design (ABA reversal design). The subject exercised on the was received acute, The total experimental session(15-session) was divided into the baseline, intervention and again to baseline. Exercise programs have been carried out at the same time each day. exercise was monitored to maintain the proper exercise intensity with the heart rate meter. The stroop test and trail making test were used for the assessment of the attention and executive function. attention and executive function were analyzed by the average of stroop test and trail making test and visual analysis through graphs.

Result: The results showed improved attention and executive function in the intervention phase. But The effect is not sustained after intervention phase.

Conclusion: This study suggested that the aerobic exercise performed before the cognitive treatment activity that can increase the therapeutic effects.
